I've been following Cardano and held ADA off and on since the early days, so let me separate two things people keep merging: whether governance is broken (it clearly is — the fatigue, the straw-manning, the absence of any real path to a decision) from whether this specific fix is the right one. The strongest case for the forum is simple: you can't converge thousands of voices to a yes/no in broadcast channels built for performance. Structure isn't centralization — every functioning governance body has it. The strongest case against is just as real: a venue one person initiates, scopes, and sets the rules for concentrates agenda-setting power, even with the best intentions — and "participate or lose funding" can read as coercion, not consent. Where I land: the problem is urgent enough to act, but the legitimacy has to come from the open process, not the convener. Get the "who controls it / who can be removed" answers right and most of the objection dissolves. Genuine question for the room: is there a version that's gated for focus but governed by the community from day one — and what would that look like?
